Ashworth University is a waste of your money.

Ashworth University review by FormerEmployeeOf_Ashworth
Ashworth University is a joke. I am a former employee, and speaking from "behind the lines" : Don't waste your money.

The company gives employees in Enrollment a small bonus for every new enrollment, even if the student cancels the next day. This leads to the recruiter doing whatever they must to enroll a student--even lie. They have lied about prices, about what the school can/can't do, etc. DON'T FALL FOR IT!

Then, once you're enrolled, you're caught. Even if you immediately decide it's not for you, you'll have a heck of a time getting your money back.

And if you decide to continue on, you're guaranteed to have many problems along the way, be it late responses, bad information, technical mishaps, etc.

Even then, if you somehow manage to graduate (less than 15% of Ashworth students make it this far), your degree probably won't be accepted in most traditional schools/work.

Technically, the school is accredited. But, that piece of paper is essentially worthless in the real world. You'd be better off saving your money and attending traditional high school or community college.

Back in October, the company laid off 17 workers, including me and people who had worked there 17 YEARS, single mothers, etc. They took us individually into a conference room, told us, then advised us we were to leave immediately--not say goodbye to anyone or tell anyone what happened. And we were not allowed back on the premises--ever.

What a company, huh?

Please...don't waste your money.

If any of you would actually go back and read what I originally posted, I did not say I worked there 17 years. I said they laid off others who had.

There was also a second round of layoffs just a month or so ago.

If you want to question my morality or write off my comments as a bitter ex-employee, please...go ahead. I am attempting to reach those that are actually interested in NOT wasting his or her money, effort, and time.

However, to address your issues, I tried my very best to give everything I had to make that company better the short time I was employed there. I contributed to their blogs, helped every customer extensiveley, and went out of my way on a daily basis to make sure students "did well." I was always honest about the transfer of credits and everything else I've mentioned above.

Please feel free to comment or question if you really are concerned or would like answers. Don't bother if you're just looking to pick a fight.

I'm in the process of transferring to Ashworth. I know someone that received their degree there and has zero problems. My question to you is this, were you fired for being one of the employees that was lying to potential students to get them to enroll? If that's the case, then you deserved to be fired.

If not, I'm sorry you lost your job, but a the last person stated, why would you work some place for 17 years if they were cheating people? It was ok to work for a company that was cheating people as long as you were receiving a pay check? But now that you've been fired it's a ripoff?

I think you need to take a long look in the mirror and evaluate the type of person you are.

As far as tuition goes, Ashworth seems to be a great deal. And if you plan to finish you degree at Ashworth, it still is a good deal. But, if you want to transfer any credits to a regionally accredited school (as are most academic institutions), you will have some trouble. Not every time, but in most cases, you will have some issues. Secondly, if you ever plan to further your education into graduate school, more than likely you will NOT be able to transfer in a degree from a nationally accredited school. To some of you, this is not what you want to hear, but as a professional in the industry, it is the fact. Good luck with your education.

Don't listen to all of the positive 'testimonials'- Anyone can be anyone or anything they want to here on the interent, much less say anything. If someone had a bad experience at Ashworth what would they have to loose by telling everyone? Seems to me Ashworth is little more than low-quality 'rent-to-own' education. And all of you fake-*** people trying to pump Ashworth's reputation, we know you work there... so cut the bullshit.

I'm currently enrolled in Ashworth and there are credited schools that accept Ashworth credits. I inquired at colorado technical university a regionally accredited university and they gladly accepted all my credits for the Business Administration Program. I encourage all you out there that need a school like Ashworth to give it a try and if you want to transfer your degree or credits check out www.ctuonline.edu they welcome Ashworth University Credits.

I am on my 18th course. Only 2 left until I have my degree in Psychology. My employer is paying most of my tuition and recognizes the degree. When I am finished, I can promote to a Case Manger. I've had no problems with the school. Any concerns were promptly answered. That's my experience with Ashworth.

Best investment I've made. Sorry about your job, but as the guy above says, you worked for them thinking/knowing what it was all about. Maybe the employees and managers should take the Business Ethics course that I am working on now. Ashworth isn't for everyone, but with everything in life you have to know what your getting into. I think your being more bitter than fair. Ashworth isn't a waste of money for everyone. It was the best investment I've ever made. If it wasn't for Ashworth, I wouldn't be getting a degree at all. Many companies are starting to recognize the value of online degrees.

You worked at Ashworth for 17 years. And for 17 years you give out degrees that you said are wothless. You got fired and now you are saying nobody must attend Ashworth because the school's degree is worthless? Why haven't you warned the public during past 17 years? Why now? You are as guilty as Ashworth. If I am a judge, I could have given you 20 years for each year you spend working for Ashworth.
